SHE’S THE COLOR: Where she crafts her own stories

Straightforward question. What splashes in your mind when you read the title? Is it the ugly reality of Caste differences, Racism, and Judgements? Well, this is what we’re going to discuss.

“She is the color” speaks about women’s various sides of determination, freedom, and strength she brings to the table. So yeah, not only is empowerment an advertising slogan but it also awakens a basic human right. It is about providing women with the opportunities and right resources to get a grip on their lives, smash stereotypes, and write those tales they are interested in telling.

Women represent a spectrum of strength, perseverance, and empowerment in a world painted with shades of variety. Every tone and tint adds to the vibrant portrait of equality and growth. Several shades that collectively make each aspect of femineity are to be recognized and cherished in a society, where social guidelines frequently characterize how women should carry themselves.

Stereotypical gender roles are pervasive and cause a major challenge for women as they work towards self-determination. Girls are usually advised from an early age about their roles, how they should look, and how to behave. These narrow ideas can push women to the edge of their existence and limit their creativity, ambition, and self-worth. It would also be fair to say that women are judged based on their color. And why does this happen?

Has anyone thought about it? We give a lot of importance to how we look and question ourselves on why we aren’t fair, why our skin is dull, and why there’s always been this insecurity all around “Fair-skinned” women. Fair skin is advertised in a lot of commercials, which might eventually make you feel insufficient physically and psychologically as well.

We can’t deny that the target audience’s desire to buy skincare products that deal with fair complexion issues could increase due to exposure to commercials portraying fair skin and getting instant results, I admit, that can be persuasive, but that is the goal of these commercials, no? On the contrary, ads that focus on fair skin tones, eventually promote unrealistic standards of beauty, which might trigger women with darker complexions making them feel miserable with their bodies and negatively judge themselves.

There are a lot of examples from different articles, websites, and social media platforms like Instagram, Twitter, and whatnot. Instagram for instance is flooded with influencers promoting various brightening creams and serums that could limit individuals in various situations. Anyways, hashtags that come to light include #DarkSkinIsBeautiful and #BlackGirlMagic, and these platforms help counter-question the standards that’ve been set by society.

Trust me, every woman on this planet is beautiful regardless of their color, caste, and religion. There’s a quote that reads “Beauty lies in character and not the color”. You’ll eventually attract people with your character. Winning in life doesn’t depend on having a job, it is about what you love and want to pursue forward and no one’s going to question your decision

Today women worldwide are standing up to these presumptions, taking back their voices and making their presence clear in every corner of society. Women are breaking down barriers and redefining how people think of what it means to be strong, whether it is in the corporate world, in schools, or within the walls of politics. By empowering women with the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need to follow their goals, education is also very important. It strengthens a girl’s chances of avoiding marriage, having fewer children, and ensuring the economic growth of her community if that is what she wants.

Now, what should we as an Individual do? Various actions can be considered but in my point of view, Education can be a great asset in a woman’s life. She’d have access to anything and everything be it in the domain of healthcare, politics, finances, entrepreneurs, businesses, the list is never-ending. STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths) education can be promoted for girls, and educating about gender equality and women’s rights could be an added benefit. Various campaigns can be held such as awareness campaigns, social media, and community engagement campaigns for a just society.

In short, regardless of gender, race, caste, or religion, empowering women is about embracing and respecting every aspect of what she has to offer. It involves offering women the means, resources, and career prospects they need to reach their full potential and make valuable contributions to society. By clarifying rumours, fighting for equality, and nurturing freedom, we can build a more equitable and fair community in which every woman may succeed. It’s time to give women’s voices more weight, eliminate obstacles, and stubbornly and actively fight for their rights.

I’m pretty sure, together, we can help build a more promising future that is fair and healthier. Let us as as a community unlock the door to a future where everyone may grow.
